Write On!

10.31.11 Prompt: A Startling Message

In Writing Prompts on October 31, 2011 at 6:38 pm

Another week, another story!

Join us in writing one short story this week, using the following prompt, then post your story (or a link to your story) under the comments. Jen and I, along with a guest author, will post our responses on Thursday.

This week’s prompt:
You and a friend have just finished a lovely meal at your favorite restaurant. But things take a turn when you notice that the waiter has scribbled an unexpected—and startling—message on your bill. Write this scene.

As you write and read, keep in mind:
* The purpose here is not perfection, but to exercise your writing creativity – to just DO IT!
* Don’t feel you must spend hours on something in order to post. In fact, Jen and I have given ourselves the limit of 3 hours’ work per story, with a 500-2,000 word limit.
* Have you become a follower of the blog yet? Please do! And please invite your friends to join our adventure.
* We’d love to get your feedback as we write, too. 🙂

Happy writing! Happy reading! Happy week!
